Loss by Fire Destroys Foley Mill and Warehouse

The New London Milling Company’s Foley mill and warehouse were burned to the ground last Friday night with unknown origin. About 2000 barrels of flour and 10,000 bushels of wheat were destroyed. total loss around 95,000 dollars, with 20,000 dollars insured. R L Thomson left for Foley to inspect the fire and loss, while W J Pinney was traveling in the west and will likely return soon.

Lincoln Memorial Fund Subscription Opens at Willmar

Willmar residents urged to support the Lincoln Memorial Fund over the next two weeks with voluntary gifts. The Tribune will publish all contributions. funds accepted at Carlson Bros and Frost drug stores Elfstram drug store and the Tribune office. Melton found guilty after hotel theft arrest

Ezell Melton, linked to disorderly conduct two months earlier, was arrested again for petit larceny. In municipal court Judge Muller fined him 45 dollars plus costs or 45 days in jail. Lacking funds, he is jailed. meanwhile Joe Anderson returns from abroad with curios later recovered from the Hub hotel room.

Band boys to give concert in Mardins hall next Monday

Spicer on Green Lake residents report the Band boys numbering about 30 will perform at Mardin's hall on March 22 with other selections. Admission 25 and 35 cents. Also notes of visitors travels, school endings, weddings, and community events across Spicer and nearby towns.

Navy Sailor Homeward Bound After World Cruise

Joe Anderson, in naval dress, returns to Mami after serving aboard the battleship Nebraska on a around the world voyage. The fleet toured many countries including China Japan Australia Cuba and New Zealand with strong receptions in Melbourne Sydney and especially Japan where officials praised the United States. Anderson plans to reenlist in April and notes sailors are well treated with opportunities for advancement. He has traveled over 80000 miles since enlisting. Also, Helen Marie Hanson hosted a farewell party at 820 Fourth Street for Winifred and Elnore Thomson with guests and dolls as favors.

Forsberg to Run Willmar Opera House With Moving Pictures

J C Forsberg, formerly linked to a Willmar photo studio, has leased the opera house from Crosby and Markhus. He plans a complete moving picture outfit and vaudeville acts, aiming to open by early next month and handle advertising for Crosby & Markhus shows. The Bijou’s new building on Benson avenue and the opera house venture will boost Willmar’s theatrical scene. Also reported: death of J K Fancher at 69 after long illness. funeral held Sunday.
