Willmar City Council Advances Bonds and Rail Ordinance
Willmar Minnesota March 5 1906 council adjourned after approving a sinking fund bid of 8600 for city certificates and an ordinance to grant the St Paul Minneapolis and Manitoba Railway right to lay tracks in streets and alleys. Regular meeting March 12 1906 noted bills from the waterward fund general fund and other accounts and reports from the finance committee. A separate item covered Workmen’s lodge initiation at Atwater with Willmar delegates attending and a banquet hosted by the Atwater lodge for 15 initiates.

Man Killed Brakeman After Train Backed Onto Him
Bert Simpson a Great Northern brakeman on the Breckenridge division was killed Monday night at Benson when his foot caught in a frog on a side track and the train backed onto him. He left a young wife married about two weeks ago. Home was in Campbell Minnesota.
