Willmar High Prevails 43 to 12 Over Grove City

Willmar High School defeated Grove City 43 to 12 in a basketball game as part of a strong season. The win keeps Willmar near the top of Central Minnesota standings with little losses, and a return game with Grove City is set for next Saturday followed by an April 18 Paynesville match. A freshmen juniors game precedes the Grove City rematch. admission is 15 cents for students and 25 for outsiders. A baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs N B Carlson last Sunday.

Kirby Drops Casey Case in Twin Detective Saga

Samuel R. Kirby, famed tri star detective who linked Mrs. Gunness to Mrs. Wallie Casey, pressed Sheriff Bonde to take Casey to Fort Madison. Bonde refused, seized Kirby’s revolver to calm the scene, and Kirby vowed to drop the case, promising higher authorities would act if the gun was not returned.

Dry towns vote results spark statewide tensions

In yesterday’s elections the dry wren near Witter suffered a loss while several villages Ke ndiyohi Kandiyohi and others remained dry with no vote. Wet towns like Raymond showed votes against the dry movement with margins noted. Missionary Societies to Come Here

The Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary societies of the St. Cloud Presbytery will hold their annual meeting at the Presbyterian church Friday and Saturday March 25 and 26. On Friday evening at 8 o'clock Mrs. H. S. Vincent of Wi nona Presbytery will share her mission work in Sakawa Laos in Siam. Everyone is invited to hear her.

Italians Involved in Fatal Garretson Fight

Sat urday incident at Garretson left three Italian laborers hospitalized in Sioux Falls and twenty others jailed after a clash with railroad workers. Fred Kendall, a brakeman, was targeted and wounded. Kendall eventually shot several attackers in self defense, leaving one severely injured. Kendall faced no charges. Kandiyohi Delegation Shines at St Paul Convention

Willmar Commercial Club Advances Farm Improvement Plan

Nearly half the Willmar Commercial Club attended the meeting with Dr. H. E. Frost as the 100th member. The group discussed an experimental farm funded by the State Agricultural School for three to five years, requiring 80 acres or a full farm, located near rail and town, with selection by a committee including local officials and the Agricultural College. The club backed domestic science and agriculture in local schools, urged bonds for the project, and directed petitions to fix Foot Lake’s water level and fund a State Fair display. Three new delegates joined the Kandiyohi County exhibit at the Conservation Congress.
