Mindegave Meeting for Norway Fund at Willmar Opera House

A Norwegian American rally at Willmar Opera House on Monday March 9 at 5 pm seeks funds for Norway's centennial memorial. Wal demar Ager of Eau Claire will speak. Nordmendenes Glee Club, Grieg music, and local talent perform. Free admission with a collection for the fund. Event organized by local committee.

Holstein Cows Bought by Herman Tallakson at Northfield

Herman Tallakson and U L McNelly were in Northfield last week where Tallakson bought four registered Holstein-Friesian cows to add to his herd. The Eastern Star social for members and families is planned for next Wednesday March 11. The Swedish M E church in Kandig ihop t will be dedicated Sunday March 15. Tom Dean of Minneapolis visited en route to De Graff.

Obituary notes from New London area deaths

Obituaries report the deaths of Mrs. Johanna Nelson of New London and Gustaf Nord of Fahlun, with details on births, families, and funeral arrangements. George P Tangen mourns death of son George born March 9 1893 after a week’s illness from pneumonia and heart failure. He attended Minneapolis school since New Years. funeral last Friday at Colfax cemetery with Rev R B Lund officiating. Pallbearers listed. parents mourn his loss.

Willmar considers new all wool factory and jobs

A Gettysburg investor seeks to locate an overall and glove factory in Willmar offering a $1,600 bonus and a bond in double the amount. It would start with twenty machines and employ many women, with rapid expansion after funding. The proposal was sent to the Prospectives Industries Committee for study.

Pair Wed at Presbyterian Parsonage in Stanley

Pioneer J B Taylor and Miss Lillian Winnifred Young united in marriage last Saturday at the Presbyterian parsonage in Stanley. Rev H B Parks spoke at 2 p m. ring ceremony used. Miss Young linked to Epworth. Taylor known as Epworth Examiner foreman. They will live in Plaza after housekeeping arrangements.

Elks Plan Erection of Block on Masonic Corner

Willmar Elks, led by Treasurer W F Gratz, have completed negotiations to buy the Masonic corner for 6000 dollars with a 60 day option. Plans call for a two store block with ground floor stores and upper lodge rooms. Desirable long term tenants secured for the stores. A lodge meeting tomorrow will decide on the erection. Peterson Qvale lumber yard now occupies the lot to be moved south to adjacent land owned by the firm. The Ellis building would be a substantial improvement and a handsome addition to Fourth street business.
