Kandiyohi County Drives Dry Policy in County Option Fight

Kandiyohi County has been a driving force in the county option battle. Willmar’s dry policy boosted support as Raymond votes next Tuesday on liquor, with potential for a countywide push to end licenses. A countywide election would cost about 200 dollars in county funds and up to 450 dollars per precinct locally. Two Day Church Sale At Bethel Church Promises Interest

Two day sorat to be given next Tuesday and Wednesday at the basement of Bethel church opens early Tuesday evening. Fancy articles candy and refreshments will be on sale. Fruit growers plan county marketing group meeting

The County Horticultural Society will lead a meeting to organize a fruit growers marketing association in Kandiyohi County. All growers are urged to attend the session at the courthouse on Saturday March 13 at 10 o clock in the morning. A University Extension Division representative will discuss forming a cooperative ship in car lots to reduce waste and improve market access.

Willmar leads Minnesota cities with 8 000 or fewer population in selling Christmas Seals. Kandiyohi County Public Health Association honors Mrs. P J Haley as head, with 20 000 seals sold and an average per person of 4.84. Rev A G Beck of Litchfield will lead two weeks of special meetings at the Swedish M E church starting Tuesday evening March 9 at 7 30 PM. Fatal Fall From Windmill At Kandiyohi Farm

Emmet DeFoe, 23, died after falling from a windmill while repairing the mill at the DeFoe farm near Kandiyohi Station. He struck a plank and fractured his skull, dying after hours of semi consciousness. He had married six weeks earlier to Rose Margaret Tait. Funeral set for Friday at St Marys Kandiyohi. The couple had furniture ready to move. the community offers sympathy. Married licenses listed for Charles Ledeboer and Anna Hoogeveen, Ole Person and Volberg Nygaard, Oscar Miller and Hattie Jacobson.
