Willmar hosts Prof Johan Edward Sverdrup of the New Theological Seminary at Christiania, traveling in the United States on a seminary stipend to study Lutheran churches. Miss Winifred Irene McIntyre and Amos C. Lien wed at a private Wednesday home ceremony presided by Rev. J. L. Parmeter. Relatives attended as music by Miss Mabel Olson and a pink white decor theme accented the event. Bridesmaids wore pink and rose silk mull, with Sylvia Peterson as ring bearer. The couple left for a short wedding trip and will reside at 809 Lake Ave after August first.

Beloved Mrs John Tait Passes After Long Sickness
Christiana Stewart Tait, wife of John Tait, died Sunday morning June 26 after a life of charity and hospitality. Born in Scotland June 3, 1830, she came to Wisconsin as a young girl, married in 1857, and helped found a home on Diamond Lake in Kandiyohi County. Survived by husband and eight children, three daughters and three sons, funeral held Tuesday at 2 pm at their home with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. The piece also notes the upcoming installation of Rev C Swenson as pastor at New London with visiting ministers.

Willmar Firemen Hold Annual Eagle Lake Outing
At C. C. Selvig’s cottage on Eagle Lake the Willmar firemen plus sixty guests from the city council health board and commercial club enjoyed a fine dinner and swimming races last Sunday. Races and stunts impressed all while a convention report from Alexandria was read. The Willmar post office will close at eight p.m. from July 1 to Sept. 15.
