Long column of local social notes from New London area recounts Rev Nath Franklin arriving with his bride from Triumph Minnesota. He will oversee Lundby Florida and Salem congregations during his father's three month absence. Numerous neighbors and families visit, host, and attend gatherings at homes, churches, and local events including picnics and summer fairs.
The Norwegian Lutheran Free church convention drew 2000 to 3000 people to a park grove as five Augsburg seminary graduates were ordained. Officers were elected, endowment aims set at $100,000 for Augsburg, and missions and home institutions across Minnesota, the Pacific Coast, and Madagascar were discussed. The gathering approved fundraising, noted debt relief at Bethania college, and reported substantial cash offerings for foreign and home missions.
The Kandiyohi County Old Settlers Association gathered at Willmar for its fourteenth annual reunion with 285 members dining at Park Pavilion. Officers elected include Andrew Larson president and A N Lewis treasurer. The day featured addresses by Lt. Gov. Gordon and others, a memorial for departed members, and a closing song of America.

Mrs. Pehr Olson hosted many Lake Elizabeth friends last Sunday. Leander Campbell returned from the Epworth League convention at Clear Lake. Miss Anna Draxton of Rosendale did dressmaking for Mrs. Geo Burman last week. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Blur visited John Johnson Tuesday. Mrs. E Erickson came home from a Chicago visit. A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. C O Peterson last Sunday. Rev. Erickson visited Pete Mossberg Tuesday. C Peterson of Cokato and daughter Dorothy visited C. D. Peterson’s. Miss Lillie Paulson returned home from Dr Porter's office last Saturday. Esther Erickson spent the week at Theo. Bjura. Edith Anderson spent the weekend at Reuben Broman’s. Roy Paulson visited John Forsberg Sunday. Mission meetings in Hosendale were well attended. Mrs. Gundry gave vocal selections at each session. Alma Carlson returned from Minneapolis after a visit. Andrew Olson is improving from pneumonia. George Winberg visited F C Danielson’s Sunday. Moon Shine. Moon Shine attendees included Moon Shine members. Swedish Conference at Maynard was well attended.
The 1911 Kandiyohi county park assembly opens next Saturday with a concert by the Metropolitan Ladies Orchestra and remarks by Director Dr. Lanham and Miss Lamkin. Col Bain will deliver an evening lecture as a featured treat. Local churches hold mid summer picnics but assembly attendance is encouraged as part of community uplift and education. The executive committee urges broad county support to build a lasting annual gathering known across the region.
Mr and Mrs J T Lundquist and daughter Dorothy of Duluth stay with relatives here. Various families from Beckville Escanaba Mich and Thist River Falls visit. Laura Peterson marries Carl M Wall at her home on June 15 and departs for a wedding trip. Ebenezer congregation to hold mid summer picnic June 24 at C Jacobson’s place with a program, dinner, and a sale by Eben over Rowing Society in the afternoon.
Raymond Juge and Mrs Brair visited Rev and Mrs Drags at Silver Creek last Thursday. Mr and Mrs Wai Dambhof visited Henry Gort on Sunday. Rev and Mrs Brumel traveled to Wilimar to see a doctor about Harriet's son. De Jager and Liszy from near Orange City visit relatives here. Pete Buikema is not improving from brain fever. William Dykema and his grandson returned to Chicago last Thursday. Mr and Mrs W Strootman celebrate the birth of their son.
Obituary notes sudden death of Gustav Peterson born Berg Sweden Nov 10 1849 died of apoplexy aged 1 7 9 in Willmar area. Survived by wife six children and several grandchildren. Funeral Thursday at Bethel Church Willmar with cortege from St Johns home.

The Peterson and Quale livery barn burned to the ground late evening. firefighter efforts saved surrounding buildings. The structure valued about 3000 dollars with 1500 dollars insurance. Jonah Gould, the barn manager, was recalled from his way home as the blaze broke out. Mrs Schmitt aided by entering the barn to help others and retrieve items.
