Man Killed When Lumber Load Slid On Wagon Wheels
Charles Frans of Diamond Lake died Friday afternoon when boards on a lumber load shifted, pinning him and his horses as he rode down a steep hill toward his farm. He fell under the front wheel, instant death. The coroner cited the accident as the cause. Frans, born December 24, 1862 in Sweden, emigrated in 1886 and farmed here since 1888. Survived by wife Anna and ten children. Burial at Ebenezer Church Kandiyohi with Rev. H. Tillman officiating. pallbearers named.

Tragic Auto Crash Ends Life of Willmar Girl Mary Daugherty
A Saturday night crash near the east outskirts of Willmar claimed Mary Daugherty, a 19 year old local resident, and left her companion Thompson injured. The collision involving a buggy and a Maxwell car killed Daugherty instantly from neck injuries while Thompson survived with bruises. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The coroner ruled death accidental.

Sgt Raymond Knott of Holland township returned last Saturday after overseas service with the Aviation Corps. He is a brother of Alvina Knott and Mrs Joel Clough of this city. He is a son of Mr and Mrs John Pholfer of Holland. Knott entered army service in Montana and has served overseas since November 1917. Mew Pastor Called. Obituary: Arthur R. Thompson Dies After War Service
Arthur Thompson of this city died at Aurora Hospital near Denver on Saturday July 26 after serving in the U S Army. He reported to Camp Grant Illinois last October and helped with demobilization after the armistice. Illness began in February and he was briefly home in March and April before being sent to Fort Snelling and then to a government sanatorium near Denver. His father learned of his critical condition in Omaha but arrived too late.

The funeral for Arthur Raynard Thompson will be held at two o'clock from the East Litchfield Avenue residence and later at the Presbyterian church where he was a member. Rev. Swan Mattson will officiate with the A O U W in charge and military honors planned. Thompson, born April 10 1894 in Willmar, taught in Dist 31 and in Lake Elizabeth township before army service. He is mourned by parents a brother Io to Thompson two sisters Dora and Ethel Florence and aunts Mrs Aug Lundquist and Mrs Nels son. He stood in deep sympathy among friends and associates. Rykien departs for Washington DC this week for a government stenographer post. Christianson of Minneapolis visits Willmar relatives Anton Petersons.
