Two New London Men Face Liquor Charges
Bert Wolf and R B McClintic, both of New London, were arraigned in Municipal Court on Monday morning on charges of maintaining a nuisance and transportation of liquor. Wolf pled not guilty to nuisance and waived exam for liquor transport, bail set at 200 for transport and 100 for nuisance, held in county jail. McClintic pled not guilty, released on 100 bail.

Elks Celebration Costs Large Sum in Willmar
The Willmar Lodge No. 952 Elks staged a big celebration at the Fair Grounds last Wednesday. The event required weeks of prep and totaled three thousand dollars in expenditures, with receipts from refreshment stands ticket sales on a Chevrolet car and a dance. About $800 in tickets were sold and total receipts neared $2,800, showing a loss of a few hundred dollars. The police court operation on the grounds netted $96 profit, as Kangaroo court with Herb Hengetler as judge handled many cases.

Maintained a Nuisance Arrest Follows Hotel Search
Sheriff Peter Bonde Deputy Ernest Olson and Chief O. J. Weat arrested Frank Rodney Tuesday at 11 30 in Room 14 of the Commercial Hotel on a nuisance charge. A search found seven quarts of bottled whiskey labelled Colored Aged Moon Whiskey in a dresser drawer. Rodney pled guilty in Municipal Court and was fined fifty dollars plus costs about six dollars.

O. B. Bergeson sold his store business at 629 East Second Street to N. L. Viggdahl on July 17. The new owners arrived from Renville with their wife and settled north of the Great Northern tracks. The Seventh District American Legion and Auxiliary convention met in Ortonville drawing over 100 delegates. Sessions at the Orpheum theatre featured talks by Dr W W Larson and Maud Beck with a large Auxiliary presence at the M E church and a noon dinner by the I C C F. Alexandria led the bid for the 1923 convention after a series of ballots ending 68 to 33.

Willmar Pageant and Street Band Event Saturday Night
Saturday evening in Willmar will feature a street parade style pageant in costumes in the downtown district under the American Legion. The Indians, old timers, fiddlers and young ladies will perform folk dances while the Willmar band plays. Mary B. Brown, Thurston management’s dance director, will present high diving and special swimming stunts at Kandiyohi Lake. Brown is noted for national diving awards including a two mile swim with hands and feet tied. Everyone is invited.

Self Held Up By Bandits On Thursday
Arthur M. Nelson employed at Erickson Soft Drink parlor was robbed Thursday evening after eight on Litchfield avenue near Sixth Street East. Two men with revolvers relieved him of a pocketbook containing $9, a Delmonico meal ticket, a checkbook and small change. One masked man asked if he should take the watch. the other urged to take money. They fled across the overhead bridge and warned him not to yell. Nelson reported to Chief C. J.
