Death of Mrs Hees Rode Near Priam

Mrs Hees Rode died at her home near Priam last Monday evening from consumption after about two years of illness. She was about 40 years old. The funeral is set for the afternoon with Rev Gy officiating. Interment will be in the Lutheran Free Church Cemetery.

Styles Promoted Chief Train Dispatcher for Great Northern

J H Styles rises to chief train dispatcher at Great Northern succeeding A M Deverell who leaves Willmar. W B McCune becomes dispatcher, while Mr Davia succeeds Styles. A Great Northern special runs Benson to Spicer next Sunday leaving Benson 7 30 am and returning 8 30 pm. Round trip fare 60 cents. Ball game Litchfield vs Hep son featured. Carl Anderson travels to Minneapolis for the American Opticians convention with niece Esther Anderson.

Train Strikes Buggy Injuring Hagbergs in Kandiyohi

Mrs Hagberg and her daughter in law narrowly escaped death when their buggy was struck by a coal train on the Great Northern line near the Farmer Elevator west of Kandiyohi. The left horse broke free, one animal died from a broken back, the other horse unharmed. Police say the whistle was not sounded in time and the occupants received no warning until the train was about 40 feet away. The injured were shaken but not seriously harmed. the horse was shot by veterinarian P Nelson to end its suffering.

Popular Willmar Pair Wed In Quiet Ceremony

Tana Jorstad and Bessie Hyer wed at 6 pm in Willmar Fires ward at the groom’s parents home. Rev. E. Gyalld officiated, with close friends present. After a wedding supper the couple left for Minneapolis and began housekeeping in the Firat ward. Both families are longtime Willmar residents.

Young Ladies Society entertainment at Lutheran church

Tripolis July 23 The Young Ladies Society of the Lutheran church will be entertained next Friday evening by Miss Nettie and Dora Johnson at their home. All are welcome. Mrs. John Holmberg has sold her farm to August Lundquist and plans to move to Willmar where she has secured a home. The writer notes the hope that ditching work continues to the lake to improve Kandiyohi road and nearby meadow tracts.

Fire at Glenwood Publishes Destruction of Six Buildings

A late night blaze devastated Glenwood destroying six structures in a district including Andrews building, Sathora drug store, Eliason cigar factory, Ames furniture, Krapes bakery, and Lenartens residence. L. M. Landing, owner of a confectionery and restaurant, suffered injuries while rescuing stock. one other man was badly burned and two injured. Fire department from Sedan aided with chemical engines but were unable to prevent total losses.

Atwater Takes City Shooting Tournament Title

Willmar club members joined Atwater last Wednesday for a city shooting event under the Atwater club auspices with teams from Twin Cities Olivia Appleton and Halloway. Atwater won the team match by twelve thirds to claim the championship and accepted a rematch with Willmar.
