Bonds Approved by Big Majority for Willmar School
One hundred twenty four votes were cast at the Willmar annual school meeting last Saturday evening. The dual fund issue of thirty seven thousand dollars for a new school building was approved about six to one. B. F. H. Oehler and G. N. Tegnell elected to three year terms on the Board of Education. The bond issue of forty thousand dollars authorized before the war remains unfurnished and will not be available for about a year. The new board will meet for organization on August 2.

Car overturns near Kerkhoven injuring Carl Struxness
A Ford with driver and Carl and Albert Struxness of Willmar toppled on a sharp corner near Kerkhoven at high speed. Carl Struxness broke a collar bone and was taken to Willmar by a passing car. Marcus Solberg Drowned While Bathing at State Hospital Lake
Marcus O Solberg a member of the Rainbow Division drowned Thursday evening while swimming alone in the lake at the State Hospital where he worked. He had left with Victor Bjorklund and later took a boat, then swam out again, cramping and calling for help before drowning.

Soldier turned dairyman dies in service and is buried with honor
Marcus Oliver Solberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. A. Solberg of Willmar, born September 18, 1895, served in World War I with the Rainbow Division. He died after the war, received full military honors at a United Lutheran Synod church funeral, with 28 uniformed veterans, a trumpet performance, and a burial in the Synod cemetery. His service included battle in France and a 300 mile trek to Luxemburg before returning home May 10.
