Death of Mrs Carlin at Willmar Ends Long County Life

An elderly Willmar settler Mrs Margaret Carlin died at 12 45 pm last Thursday at her family home on the corner of Litchfield avenue and Second street after years of illness from diabetes. Born March 12 1838 in Sherbrooke Quebec she came to this county in 1870 with her husband Patt Carlin who died in 1892 and the family settled on a Green Lake homestead. She is survived by seven children and several relatives, funeral services were held Monday at St Patrick’s Kandiyohi with a large turnout, the remains buried in Green Lake cemetery. The community mourns a respected resident.

Brown Branton wedding in Minneapolis this past Wednesday

The ceremony for Alice Brown and Berton Branton took place at the Brown home with relatives present. Floral decorations, a Nadine theme, and music accompanied the service led by Rev. A. A. Tebbets. The couple plan to reside at Atwater after August 1 following the wedding.

Appeal After Trial Over Bridge Removal Guilty Finding

The defense rested, judge did not rule on Bonded and No 1 being legal road, a verdict found the defendant guilty of removing the bridge. A $20 fine plus costs was imposed with thirty days jail as an alternative if unpaid. The defendant appealed to the district court.

Former County Resident Gead. Margelius Jacobson Dies

Margelius Jacobson, a former county resident, died at his farm near Ortonville Tuesday morning after a four month tuberculosis battle. Born June 7, 1873 in Steen Lake, he was 33 years 6 months 3 days old. Survived by widow Ida Erickson, one sister, and five brothers and other relatives. Funeral held at Hauge Lutheran Church Green Lake Township with Rev. J. S. Halvorson officiating. Remains moved to Spicer for burial.
