St Mary's Church to Be Remodeled in City
The St Marys Catholic church at Seventh Street and Litchfield Avenue will undergo a full remodelling. The basement will be enlarged to 74 by 44 feet, with excavation starting yesterday, and the auditorium expanded from 26 by 20 to 60 by 44 feet, increasing seating to over 100. Exterior stucco finish planned, plans and bids in preparation, Rev J A Hannon guiding project with completion expected by October first.

The 1922 graduation ceremony at the county high school auditorium honored 141 graduates led by County Superintendent O. O. Uivin. Rev. L. C. Benson opened with prayer, Lagerstrom delivered the address, and Supt. Ulvin awarded diplomas. The Kandiyohi County Teachers Glee Club sang Commencement, with Beatrice Eckwall and Birdie Rykken performing a duet. Botnen's Orchestra provided music for the procession.

Ex-service Men Picnic At Diamond Lake Attracts Four Thousand
About 4000 ex-service men and families gathered at Diamond Lake for a Sunday picnic. The event featured stands with refreshments, music by the Atwater Band, a boxing match won by Brainerd of Atwater, and a Lake Lillian vs New London baseball win 13 to 8. Prizes included cash for boys, candy for girls, a $5 tug of war purse, and a $5 prize for a pole climb. No injuries except two cars damaged west of the pavilion. Also notes visitors from Alhambra California and the announced marriage of Bertha Potter to Jean Thomas in Alhambra.

Willmar City Weed Notice Seeks Compliance by July 20 1922
Property owners in Willmar and surrounding villages must cut noxious weeds on all lots before Thursday July 20 1922 or have them ordered cut at the landowners expense. A ten dollar penalty will be added to taxes for parcels where weeds are neglected, under the weed law of 1921. Dated July 16 1922.
Mortally Burned in Oil Explosion Kills Mrs Selin
Mrs. John Selin died at Willmar Hospital after an oil explosion at her Fourth Street home. Ruby Selin, though burned lightly, survived. the kitchen was severely burned. Funeral set for Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Swedish M E church. Mrs Selin, 47, is survived by her husband and four children. Complete obituary next week.

Willmar to Stage Great Kandiyohi Pageant August 1-2
A historic pageant the largest in Kandiyohi County will be staged at Willmar Fair Grounds August 1 and 2 under American Legion Post 167. It chronicles county history from Indian days through World War I and II with scenes of Weat Lake massacre and pioneer life, featuring Indians traders trappers soldiers and dancers. Citizens and organizations urged to participate. a queen contest determines the pageant queen with 75 cent tickets carrying 75 votes. Merchants plan three day sales with free tickets, Thurston Management of Minneapolis to direct. Committees are being formed for production and community involvement.
