A severe hailstorm last Wednesday damaged eight miles of countryside from the Pope county line through Colfax into Burbank. Fields in sections 5 6 and 9 of Colfax were swept clean with three-fourths to all crops destroyed in otras areas, grass pastures shredded, and homes windows shattered. Farmers face crushing losses as standing grain and seed stocks were ruined, with some feeding dry hay to stock. The Tribune could not yet list names of affected farmers but will publish later.
