Ringville reports Hans Hagen closes a successful parochial school term in District No. 11 after a good pupil program. Mission Pastor Resigns After Eighteen Years at Three Churches

Rev. Nels Frykman, pastor of Salem Lundby and Lake Florida Mission churches, resigned last Sunday after eighteen years in the role. He previously led a Chicago charge and will retire to Minneapolis to devote two years to completing a new hymnal for the Mission Covenant of America. He was named to the committee arranging the hymnal and expressed deep gratitude for the communities he served.

Palmquist and Haltin Wed at Swedish Lutheran Parsonage

Miss Linnea C Palmquist and Mr George E Haltin were married last Friday evening at nine o clock in the Swedish Lutheran parsonage by Rev G Peterson. Witnesses were Mr and Mrs A G Hedin. Groom son of Mrs da Haltin of Fahlun and brother of Mrs Hedin. They start housekeeping in Johnson Block apartments. Groom employed with Great Northern road. The Tribune extends best wishes.

Prinsburg Fourth Picnic Draws Big Turnout and Fund Drive

The Prinsburg Sunday school picnic on the Fourth drew a large crowd for a day of songs speeches and recitations. Participants included Rev. Burgraaf Rev. Emden Martin Breems John DeVries Annie Roelofs and James Breems. Aid Society sales netted about 49 while refreshments brought in 115 leaving a healthy balance for Mission work. Weather was ideal and the event featured community notices and local visits as residents planned future gatherings and home projects.

Lake Lillian Fourth of July raid capsizes picnic booze

Sheriff Peter Bonde and deputies raided the Lake Lillian Fourth of July picnic stands and arrested John Signal on maintaining an unlicensed drinking place. Seven half barrels of beer, a beer pump and nineteen glasses were seized. Signal pleaded guilty and was fined 50 dollars plus 16 in costs. bail and appeals discussed.

Victor Knutson returns from two months travel in the western states and plans to spend vacation with family. Gurl Endresen Memorial to Be Dedicated July 21

Dedication of the Guri Endresen monument is set for Sunday July 21 at two o clock in the Vikér churchyard Dovre. The program will be in Norwegian Rev O Estrem Endreson’s pastor will attend and speak. The red granite monument is carved at St Cloud quarries and is being inscribed and finished at Willmar Marble Works Shipstead Johnson Bros arranged the order.

Spicer Social Ties and Fourth of July Visits

Spicer and Green Lake residents gathered for Independence Day events and social visits. Miss Cornelia Jacobson traveled from Willmar for the holiday. teachers, relatives, and friends circulated through Spicer and nearby towns. A Swedish church social was planned for July 18 with activities in the church basement, while locals and guests from Willmar, Minneap olis, and surrounding areas shared news of travels and gatherings.

Hawick Week of Heat Brings Local Socials and Visits

Hawick receives a hot dry spell with residents hosting and visiting kin. Ada Van Vorst and Miss Lambert are visiting Roseville relatives while Maude Hood hosts a St Paul sister. Lake Lillian Ditch Expansion Review Begins

H L Halverson and C M Holm of this county and A J Smithson of Kandiyohi started as viewers on the amended Lake Lillian Cosmos ditch. The initial petition was rejected for draining a meandered Lake Lillian. The new ditch doubles length to about 30 miles, starts northwest of the lake, and would bypass Lake Lillian, potentially drying it by cutting inflow. Estimated cost runs near 50 000 dollars.

Samuelson Block to House Eating House and Hotel

The Samuelson Block is being fitted for a well-equipped eating house and hotel run by C. B. Samuelson and M. H. Hermanson. A corner store becomes a cafe and lunch counter with twenty three furnished rooms above as a European hotel. Work aims to start soon, by Saturday or Monday at latest.
