Chastauqua Convention Draws large turnout in Dassel
The state convention for the Swedish Mission church Young People’s Societies met in Dassel over the weekend with very large attendance. Attendees included Esther Anderson and many others from the area, with sessions Friday through Monday reported as well attended and helpful. Dr Albert W Odell, Minnesota University dental student, has bought Dr A F Mantor’s practice in the city and opened offices above Berkness Lundberg & Co.

Willmar Circus Draws Record Crowd and Traffic
Barnum & Bailey's circus played in Willmar drawing a record outdoor crowd estimated from ten to twenty five thousand, the largest in town history. Nearly two thousand cars lined streets and Fifth Street traffic was blocked. The Great Northern sold about 1,300 outgoing night tickets while four-train travel arrived from Watertown. One injury occurred when eleven year old Jeanette Bauman was struck by an auto but was not seriously hurt. A northwest wind and rain kept some away from the evening show.

Tragic Drowning of George Engelstad At Whitefield Bank Site
George Herman Engelstad, 26, drowned after a swimming accident while assisting at a construction project in Willmar. Rescuers located the body after about 30 minutes at a depth of 16 feet. Coroner Branton ruled accidental drowning. he had recently returned from Seattle and was staying in Willmar for the summer.
