City residents closely review plans for the new Willmar schoolhouse as support grows for expanding facilities. Voter turnout is hoped for on February 9 with polls open from 9 to 5 as residents discuss the project and its impact on city welfare.isdigit
A Friday evening discussion at the opera house brought together representatives from nine Wear Central Minnesota high schools. Winners included Anton Huseth Elbow Lake first, Miss Winculfred Winkheimer Benson second, and Mrs Hilton Melby Granite Falls third.
The Junior class stages a Friday evening farce The Neighbors in the high school auditorium with a large local cast including Elsie Styles Diantha Abel Kara Williams and others. Music by the Girls and Boys Glee Clubs feature a piano duet and vocal numbers. An admission of ten and fifteen cents is charged. Wedding news from Worthington reports the quiet ceremony uniting Helen Hastings and E F Johnson with silver anniversaries noted.
Poultry show at Handy-Lewis Motor Co. garage attracts many birds and visitors despite road blocks. Sup erintendent Nels Balke. assistants Quam Osmondson and Long promote the event with no admission fee. Grove City schools bring 200 pure bred birds and experts, while Sons of Norway hosts a social. Caruthers the mentalist performs nightly at Dreamland, wowing crowds with a ring mystery.
A long list of townsfolk travel to Minneapolis St Paul Moorhead Ada Ada Clara City Monticello and other places for short visits business or to attend carnivals and events. Several residents report returns home from trips and hosting duties at home clubs and relatives during the past week.
A local plea urges the state to unite behind prohibition as Bone Dry county asserts it is already dry and asks for a statewide vote to extend the status. The message argues that broader support will spark wider interest and stronger results.

Last Wednesday at Green Lake church Miss Astella Henrietta Hanson married Victor Arthur Blomquist in a ceremony led by Rev. I A Johnson. The reception followed at the bride's home with sixty seven guests and a four course dinner. Bridesmaids wore green and pink fabrics. groom’s party included Leonard Blomquist and Harry Hanson. The couple planned to visit relatives before moving to Devils Lake, N D, to farm. Etta Odell and Carl G Erickson wed at the bride’s home with a small private ceremony attended by relatives. The Willmar Swedish Lutheran ministers faced travel delays due to irregular trains while planning a large meeting with Bishop Loueren of Sweden for next summer.
Victor L reucrown, a notable Lake Lillian resident, visited Hutchinson on business Friday while Peter son demolished a large grain warehouse at Atwater hauling 125 loads of lumber toward the Lake Lillian townsite for the Luce Line extension. He plans an elevator once the road is built and just returned from Minneapolis where President Luce hinted at a likely extension next season. Mr and Mrs C H Bailey left Saturday for Dillon Mont after visiting relatives.
Sunday morning and evening services at Disthel Luthern and other Willmar churches are listed along with Sunday school times.
