Kandiyohi County Farmers Short Course Spurs Progressive Farming
Kandiyohi County’s Farmers Short Course energized last week with crowded sessions and strong exhibits. A Silo Club formed by twenty farmers, plans silos next summer, while a 160-member County Corn Growers Association began with Phil Haley as president and a township board planned. The event adopted next year’s course, set a $2 fee, and donated grain show samples to the course. Prize winners covered corn judging, stock judging, and poultry shows, with extensive listings by breed and exhibitor. A county agricultural society was proposed, and the course ended with a successful first poultry show and many enrollments for future sessions.

Young People’s Society to Install Kimball Pipe Organ
The Norwegian Lutheran Synod church youth group voted to buy and install a new Kimball pipe organ for 1700 dollars. With 800 to 900 already in the fund and a price concession from L A Tresvold of the Shor Kimball Co, the project moves toward ratification and quick installation before the District Synod gathering. Tresvold also donated a $375 Kimball piano to the society.
