Sheriff Bonde pushes to curb gambling as 45 men face municipal court. Over several days 18 more youths were charged and pled guilty with $10 fines and posts. one case fined was suspended. Frances Willard Day noted with a public program at Carlson Hall on February 14 at 2 30 p m. Everyone welcome.
The funeral for Earl Hamilton Frye, who died in St Paul on Jan 18, was held Thursday afternoon at Peterson Undertaking Parlors. Rev J Renwick McCullough led the service with a quartet singing Face to Face and Abide With Me. Pallbearers were ex service men Thorwald Thorson Olaf Omlie Arthur M Swenson Richard Taylor H A Hengstler and N H Talakson. Burial followed at Fairview cemetery.

Dovre resident Mrs. August Bergman dies after surgery in Rochester. Willmar township Nonpartisan league caucus elects Victor Bergquist as committeeman and selects delegates to county convention. The conference begins Monday at 3 PM with Andreas Ueland of Minneapolis as principal speaker. Sessions cover child welfare public health American citizenship and plans for the League with talks by Miss Muckley Mr Hodson and others. A banquet at 6:30 PM and luncheon for out of town visitors are planned at the Masonic Hall.
Mr and Mrs R C Bonham enjoyed a surprise party at their 16th Street home on a Saturday evening January 10 marking their twentieth wedding anniversary. About thirty friends attended with Rev Luther Benson praising the couple and presenting china ware. Bonham illnesses noted as improving. Other notes mention Swedish Mission Church events including a bazaar at The Masonic Temple February 4 with lunch and 20 cent prices, and a Ladies Aid program January 29. Public coffee planned at Lafayette school January 1 and reports from Little Citizens League meetings directed to Freda Langren. Reuben Anderson returned from Denver after attending Colorado School of Mines. E Swenson visited Willmar after attending a lumbermen’s convention.
Rev Paul Hallin leads revival at Swedish Baptist with strong Evangelist preaching and a full slate of services through Sunday February 8. English and Swedish sermons, Sunday school at 9:30, 10:45, and 3:00, plus communion at noon. U P gathering at 6:30 and special children's talk Saturday. Bethel Lutheran and other churches schedule English Swedish services, events, and meetings throughout the week.
A quiet wedding occurred Tuesday at 10:30 am at St Marys Catholic parsonage uniting Miss Mary Ursula Doyle and Paul L Miller with Rev Father Holland officiating. Attendants were Mrs AL Patchell and Robert L Doyle. The bride, a Kandiyohi and Meeker county teacher, wore maroon Duvelyn with mole fur trim and ophelia roses. Patchell wore purple with violets. The reception for 36 guests followed at 225 Benson Ave E. The groom, recently returned from overseas, is in business at Darwin. The couple departed on the 2:20 pm train for an extended Eastern states trip.
