Explosion Injures Willmar Man Cleaning Gas Apparatus
Martin Olson of Atwater, known in Willmar circles, was badly burned in an acetylene gas lamp explosion while inspecting a supposedly empty apparatus. He held a lamp close to the device and the爆 burst like gunfire, burning his face, erasing his eyebrows, and burning part of his moustache. The incident narrowly avoided a worse disaster.

Anthracite Coal Supply Questioned At Litchfield Visit
W W Knight demonstrated anthracite coal could be bought at Litchfield last Monday. He placed an order Saturday and received coal Monday paying 13 48 a ton, with freight 11 cents per hundred or 2 20 a ton, totaling 15 68 a ton. He asks why Willmar dealers cannot obtain coal similarly.

Death of Edward OBrien in Tacoma Remains Arrive for Burial
The body of Edward OBrien, who died January 14 at his daughter’s home in Tacoma, reached Willmar last night. Funeral held at St Marys Church with Rev Melloy officiating. Interment in Catholic cemetery beside his wife. He was 83, a longtime Great Northern foreman with 27 years service and a respected member of the Willmar community. Survived by Mrs James Blake, Mrs C C Shire, Mrs Geo Harris, Mrs Stephen Stegner, and Con OBrien.
