Teachers Examinations Program and Rules for Sta

Court in Session Deliberates City Irregularities and Grand Jury

The Jacusry district court opened with Judge Quale presiding. After charging the grand jury, Charles W. Odell was named foreman and Aug Johnson secretary. The civil and criminal calendars list numerous cases from Willmar, including City of Willmar v Osmundson and others, with several ejectment and ditch matters, and indictments for liquor sales. One case ends in divorce between Elna Nilson and Jo hn Nilson, with alimony and attorney fees set. another defendant, Samuel Stearns, faces a grand larceny charge after pleading guilty then changing plea. further indictments for liquor sales and name charges are entered.

A Second Victory For Willmar High School Debating Team

Willmar high school debating team returned victorious after beating Madison in Madison opera house on the policy of limiting immigration to the United States. Judges favored Willmar's arguments with strong rebuttals and the home crowd cheered loudly. The team, accompanied by Prof. and Mrs. Tanning and Dr. Petersen, received a cordial reception at the depot and plans a final district debate at Appleton Friday evening.

Segerstroms Move to Atwater for Banking Career

Mrs Bredeson Dies After Brain Hemorrhage

Mrs Ole Bredeson died at her Fourth ward home after a brain blood vessel burst Friday around three in the morning. She had suffered kidney and lung troubles for years. Born in May 1846 near Obriatianta Norway she was about 58 years old. Immigrating in 1883 she lived on Thorpe farm before moving to town. Survived by husband two daughters Bertha and Clara and son Nila Bredecou. Funeral held this afternoon Rev Anderson officiating with services at 2 and 2:30 at the Synod church. Interment to follow at the church grounds.

Passing of Ernest Stenberg at Lake Elizabeth

Ernest Bernard Stenberg, aged 24, of Lake Elizabeth, died May 21 after a long illness from sarcoma that began with a knee injury and led to thigh amputation last May at Swedish Hospital Minneapolis. Funeral Tuesday at the Lake Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Nelyun officiating. He was born January 8, 1884, at Lake Elizabeth and leaves parents Mr. and Mrs. Stenberg and four brothers Coates, D. Pred, Hilmer, Albin, and Huy, plus relatives. The obituary notes his life largely on the farm near Lake Elizabeth with time in Irving and Harrison and a final farewell to a community in mourning.

Drink's awful result kills Grove City man on track

Louis Melberg of Grove City was killed when he attempted to ride a westbound passenger train after an afternoon of drinking. He left Atwater hotel, walked toward Grove City, and was found dead beside the track next morning. Authorities note intoxication and lack of ticket led to his attempt to return home. The death underscores temperance concerns and the dangers of excessive drinking.

Mandy Sonstegard will return to Red Wing to resume studies at the Ladies Seminary. Iver A Pederson dies January 18 at about 4:30 am after long illness. Born September 23, 1870, in Burbank Town, age 34 years 3 months 26 days, survived by parents, two brothers, one sister. Funeral held at home then Crow River Lutheran Church with Rev. Tolyo officiating, burial in nearby cemetery. Pallbearers listed.
