Pioneer Mrs Britta Olson Dies in Colfax
Mrs Britta Olson an early Kandiyah County pioneer died at her son Andrew Olson’s Colfax home on Jan 14 after 18 months bedridden. Born March 18 1882 in Jart Finland Sweden she immigrated 1862 to America. Survived by sons Erick Andrew Olson Colfax and Raxyl Olson New London, a brother and sister, services held Jan 17 at Nome with burial at Oak Mountain New London.

Kimball Farmer Killed by Train
John Lawler aged 61 on a Kimball farm four miles east of town was instantly killed when a Soo line flyer struck his team of horses as he crossed the main tracks to reach the elevator. The wagon and load were scattered 100 feet. his body lay 60 feet from the impact. Survived by a wife and three children, funeral attendance reached Kandiyohi relatives.
