A Bemidji hospital call informed Chief Gilbertson that Edward Mertinson, a Norwegian woodworker aged about 28 to 30, was fatally injured by a falling tree while working near Bemidji and died Monday night at the hospital. Police seek his sister living in Willmar to inform her of the death but have not located her. if married her surname may not be Martinson. The item in Willmar papers may help reach her.

Gillman Funeral for Mrs. Gilman Held at Swedish Baptist
Funeral services for Mrs. W C Gilman were conducted at the Swedish Baptist church by Rev Oberg with assistance from Rev Par meter and Rev Service of Raymond. Burial followed at Fairview cemetery. Mrs Gilman died in St. Cloud hospital after a brief typhoid illness. The Gilman family had lived in Raymond years before moving to St. Cloud.
