Pioneer Emanuel Nelson Dies After Long Home in Archander
Emanuel Nelson a longtime Archander homesteader died last Saturday January 13 at age 76 years 3 months and 3 days. Born October 10 1836 in Vitergifland Sweden he settled in Archander 1869 retired 1899 and lived in Willmar since. Survived by three children twenty grandchildren wife died 21 years ago. Services at Lundby churchyard and residence Willmar with Rev Ostling and Rev Franklin. Peace to the pioneer.

High School Basketball Game Sparks Gran ite Falls Rivalry
A Saturday night game drew fans as Wilmar and Granite Falls met in a 22 to 24 score. Post game reception honored Granite Falls at the high school building. In school news, Juniors held a Friday meeting in room nine and Bentor class plans were approved. The next Literary program is slated for Friday Jan 19, with Sophomore-Senior reception at Carlson's Hall Friday night Jan 29. Juniors rehearse a class play with an epilogue Her Old Sweethearts. Sophomores met in room seven and a new subject elocution was adopted counting for half credit.
