Willmar post office is slated to advance from third to second class after fiscal year end March 31, 1903, due to 1902 revenue of 8565.94, above the 8000 threshold. The upgrade brings a better building, clerk hire increased to 1200 a year, and two carriers delivering mail locally.

A blaze consumed the Great North-Whern coal shed holding 200 tons of soft coal at Morris last Sunday. The fire is blamed on a man carrying a torch in one hand and a gasoline can in the other. the man’s whereabouts are not stated. E Hoyez, Green Lake farmer, was in town en route to Pennock with his daughter Mrs Joe Hanson. Hoyez plans a spring trip to Canada. John Olson of Kerkhoven reportedly sold his business interest and plans to relocate west with his family.

Destitute Scandinavia relief remittances announced
The executive committee in Kandiyohi County reports Monday drafts totaling 6510 crowns for northern Scandinavia destitution. A 3255 crown draft goes to H M King Oscar II in Stockholm for northern Sweden and another 3255 to Bishop J N Skaar in Trondheim for northern Norway.
