The January Swedish Literary Society meeting at Carlson Hall features Rev. Franklin as main speaker and Svea chorus.

Willmar Fire Department Elects Officers At Annual Meeting
The Willmar Fire Department and Relief Association held their annual meeting and elected officers. Chief William Bjornberg and Ass't Chief Hjalmer Ruud were named to lead the department, with Jalmer Person as Captain and Oscar Sattergren as Lieutenant. Edwin Selvig was secretary treasurer, and a finance committee was chosen. The Relief Association elected officers led by Hjalmar Ruud as president and Wm C Johnson treasurer, with Mike Manning as trustee and Mike M. Bjorn elected delegate. The association reported excellent finances, approved $160 in claims, and increased benefits.

The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners met at the courthouse for a five day session. William C. Johnson named chairman with N B Johnson as retiring vice chair. Dr J M Rains elected County Board of Health chair with W J De Vries and Ole Reigstad on the health committee. The Board filed its audit, re elected janitor Isaac Nordstrom, reappointed Highway Engineer H L Wadell, and set hearings for two new county roads Nos 26 and 27. A new school district was created between Swift and Kandiyohi counties. County printing bids went to Willmar Tribune. A workmen's compensation policy was authorized. The financial statement and official fee lists were approved. Deputy coroners were appointed to assist Coroner Dr J C Jacobs.
