J B Boyd and Miss Lillian Boyd were in Minneapolis Sunday and William Blumberg of Minneapolis is spending the week with Willmar relatives. Miss Lillian Boyd accompanied by Swanhild Boyd will return to Barnesville on Saturday. Mrs Charles Johnson returns to Fargo today after a week’s visit with Willmar relatives. Miss Selma Hedin of Harris Minnesota is the guest of her cousin Miss Marie Erlandson. Miss Alma Halvorson has moved her dressmaking parlors to Johnson Block. Miss Marie Erlandson has resumed work at Peterson & Wells in the coat and art department. Mrs Olaf Sandbo, guest of Willmar relatives, will return to Minneapolis today.

Local Farmer P. W. Nappie Dies Suddenly at Hale Farm

P W Nappie, renter of part of the Hale farm south of the city, died suddenly last Thursday evening around 10 o clock. He had supper and collapsed. further details continue on page 3.

Pastor Given Purse for an Automobile

Rev. D C Jordahl of Norway Lake received a surprise party on December 29 with about 300 parishioners and friends. He was presented a purse of 800 dollars to buy an automobile, in a ceremony led by Rev C N Peterson of Willmar.

Community Club Enjoys Europe Visit and Plans Oberammergau Trip

Monday meeting featured Mrs Gates recounting Europe travels entertaining the group after a holiday break. Future plans include Oberammergau and the Passion Play with Mrs Moore hosting and Mrs Gates taking ladies to the event. Also noted are memorial services for Dr V Koren at Sy node Church and a Boy Scouts meeting at Commercial Club rooms.

Willmar undertakes extensive improvements in 1910 including new industrial school building park assembly Christian Science Church and building for the aged plus multiple residences garages and remodeling. Miss Johnson Entertained on Two Day Outing

Miss Lillian Johnson of Minneapolis visited with Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Sutherland and friends in the Isle of Pines area. The party visited Columbia Briggs grove Santa Fe La Ceiba Mason brothers grove Ohio colony San Pedro La Siguenea and Andorra Inn then toured bay shores and Santa Fe before returning for noon dinner. Fire devastates Maynard business district in Isle of Pines. Church notices include Swedish Bethel U P Society Luth Free services and Bethania Young People Society events. A Minnesota child from the Minnesota Children's Home comes to stay with Mrs. M. T. Sandbo. O Hedeen of Minneapolis visits Willmar.

Willmar Red Cross reports 1910 progress and 1911 plans

Willmar Red Cross society held its annual meeting at the Commercial Club rooms with strong attendance despite bad weather. Reports show 10 meetings since April 7, 1910, thousands ofDont cards and pamphlets distributed, milk and eggs supplied to patients, and 1910 finances balanced with a treasury of 44.89. Seventeen towns aided in selling Christmas seals. 7,946 sold in Willmar area. New officers named for 1911 include President Mrs G E Thomas and Secretary Mrs H G Meyer.

Annual Swedish Lutheran Bethel meeting and club notes

The Swedish Lutheran Bethel congregation held its annual meeting with strong attendance. Trustees and deacons were elected. Lars Molin stepped down after 38 years of service. The organist and Sunday School superintendent were re elected. Finances remained sound with plans to liquidate church debt. Reports from auxiliary groups were positive. The Housekeepers Club met in January at Odd Fellows hall with a new flower committee and a flag fund. A Young People Society program was announced for Friday. A quiet wedding united Miss Freiga Norman and Dow F Thomson of Rolla N Dak. Public notices include an expected meeting February 4 and various social events in Willmar.
