PLAN COMMUNITY HOUSE FOR WILLMAR

The American Legion in Willmar is pushing a community building project. Eight members pledged $100 each and forty-one others $50 each to start funds, with Gov. Rice and Mayor Welden contributing. The expanded planning committee includes A E Rice and others. Raymond Russell Miller married Dorothy Hope Ashenden in Minneapolis yesterday.

Obituary notices for Martin A Ellingboe and Sophia Moore

Two Willmar area obituaries report Martin A Ellingboe dying February 10 after influenza pneumonia. Born October 2, 1886 in Norway Lake township, he worked as clerk and studied at Willmar Seminary and Minneapolis business college, survived by wife Anna Jorgenson, children Edward Lillian Idell, parents A J Bingboe, nine siblings, buried at West Lake Lutheran church cemetery. Sophia J Moore, Bowman resident and daughter of J P Johnson, died February 9 of pneumonia at 33 years, 7 months, and 22 days. Born in Willmar June 17, 1886, she lived in Pennock and Willmar, served as stenographer and bank assistant, married James J Moore May 1, 1916 in Miles City, Montana, burial in Willmar after funeral at Synod Lutheran church with Rev. Strand officiating.

Recruiting Officers at Willmar This Week

Five U S Army recruiting officers are at Willmar this week seeking recruits for the national army. They camp from Litchfield and stay until Saturday morning with headquarters at the post office building under Sgt. Barney Hill. They report a large number of enlistments and note some branches are closing to new applicants.

Willmar Post Office observes legal holiday next Monday

Next Monday February 23 will be a holiday at the Willmar Post Office. Lobby hours run 9 to 8 while stamps and general delivery windows operate 9 to 10 and 2 to 3. One carrier delivery occurs in the morning. Farmers County convention notes endorsements and plans

Delegates and committeemen of Kandiyohi County’s Farmers Nonpartisan League met at the county courthouse. John Wicklund was endorsed for renomination. Dental Clinics to Be Held Across Kandiyoht County

Dental clinics will be held next week in Atwater New London and Raymond under Kandiyoht County Public Health Association. Dates will start next Wednesday and details are pending. The presentation will be part of the George Washington Day program at the Opera House next Monday afternoon, under the auspices of the American Legion. New County Nurse Inga Imsdahl Arrives in Kandiyohi

Miss Inga Imsdahl arrives as the new county nurse, headquartered in the Kandiyohi county courthouse jury room. She is from Warren Minnesota, daughter of Hans Imsdahl, and comes highly recommended with a calm personality. Her first duty is to visit all county schools to promote health and proper physical development of children.

Willmar Co-Operative Store Holds Annual Meet

The Willmar Co-Operative Mercantile Company annual meeting convened at the court house last Wednesday afternoon with about fifty members in attendance. Board of Directors elected were Howard Frye Jalmar Larson John Sandin Chas Isaacson and Tobias Rasmussen. Speeches given by Hon P H Frye and Hon Nels Quamn. Top Notch Price Leonard B Harris sold his sixty five acre farm south of Atwater to a Minneapolis party at 500 per acre, a record Kandiyohi County price. The new owners also bought Harris personal property to avoid an auction. The farm was sold through U S S Realty Co of Minneapolis, with Harris joining that firm. He moved to Minneapolis with family. Visitors from China Rev and Mrs G Ablstrand missionaries from China visiting Emil Carlson home in this city. Traveling Evangelist Here Rev Peter Nilsen of Duluth, a traveling evangelist, conducts services at the Norwegian Lutheran Free church this week through Sunday.
