Start for Two New Creameries to Gather Shareholders
A Pennock meeting led by J. L. Jarrett heard F. C. Johnson of the State Dairy and Food Department report on the dairy push. A committee of Elmer Anderson, Elmer Johnson, Jens Hanson and Mr. Melin will seek shareholders with 125 shares at 35 dollars to organize once 800 cows’ cream is pledged. A Raymond gathering drew about 100 farmers with talks by Mr. Schilling and F. O. Johnson, and momentum for the 1 000 cow pledge.

Last Saturday the girls lost to the high school 6 to 3 while the second teams won 27 to 15. Oscar Johnson spent Sunday in Belview. Next Tuesday the S C club hosts a public program in the assembly hall with a banquet for members. Friday the girls face Raymond and the boys play the Wahpeton Indians at home. The annual play Scarlet Arrow is set for Thursday Feb 26. Osseo holds its annual banquet Friday evening. Alma visited home over Sunday.

Mrs Sophia L Rice wife of Hon A E Rice died at the Rice mansion on February 12 age sixty one with the anemia cause. She was a longtime educator and civic leader in Kandiyohi County Minnesota contributing to libraries Red Cross and public welfare. Surviving husband and son Cushman A Rice were distant. funeral services held at Bethel Lutheran and St Luke's Episcopal church with large local attendance and numerous tributes.

TriState telephone operators in this part of the state enjoyed a social evening hosted by Misses Eather Sorenson and Juliet Signal from the TriState offices. The group toured the Carlyon building, rode a sleigh around the city, dined and decorated tables, then attended the play Alias Jimmy Valentine at the Opera House. New Lighting System Installed at GN Roundhouse
The Great Northern roundhouse machine shop and coal shed received a modern electric lighting upgrade. Tungsten wall reflectors and four lights illuminate the turntable and shop areas, replacing old drop lights and wiring. Electricians from St Paul under Tom Jackson completed the project and turned on the system February 6. A State Labor Commission skylight addition and a gasoline engine tractor on the turntable accompany the improvements.
