The Willmar Commercial Club held its annual banquet last Wednesday at Odd Fellows Hall with about ninety business men attending. Judge Gilbert presided over the meal, and Mrs. B. Y. McNairy sang as Miss Nellia Robbing played, followed by Victrola selections. A joint debate on the Kandiyohi County sanatorium, pitting Dr. Hill against Dr. Johnson, drew keen interest with no decision reached. questions were invited afterward. Banquet service was credited to Mrs. James Sanderson and assistants.

Obituary Hans Larson of New London Passes Away
Hans Larson of New London and longtime Burbank township resident died Friday morning after a sudden heart failure. He was 74 years old, born January 31, 1841 in Norway, emigrated 1870, married 1872 to Oline Haugen, farmed in Burbank before moving to New London in 1899. Funeral was Monday at 1 PM from his home and 2 PM at the Norwegian Lutheran church, interment Oak Hill. Pallbearers were Gunder Iverson, George Johnson, Olaus Stenerson, Hans Halvorson, John Amundson, Tobias Solseth.

The Monday Afternoon Club gave the Public Library a bust of Abraham Lincoln to honor Mrs Sophia L Rice on the first anniversary of her death. Attendees included library board exmembers the librarian and Mrs Rice’s relatives. President D N Tallman spoke on Lincoln’s heroism and Mrs Rice’s educational contributions to Willmar.

Glenwood residents Mr and Mrs L M Landing announce the marriage of Olive Johanna to Dr Wayne W Woolley in Glenwood last Sunday February 14. Mrs Joseph Stepanek and Miss Victoria Johnson return to Wheelock North Dakota after months with sister Mrs Chas Eckwall.

County Schools Oppose the Bill at County Meeting
