Wreck kills three men in Pennock How disaster halted trains
A coast train No 3 known as the Puget Sound Express collided with a freight at Pennock late Thursday night. Three passengers died and several others were injured. Brakeman C D Wilson escaped. rescuers pulled victims from the caboose as fire broke out. The stormy, cold night hampered aid and the injured were taken to Frost hospital in Willmar for treatment.

Dr Carl A Swenson president of Bethany College Lindaborg Kansas died suddenly in Los Angeles from pneumonia while on a trip to lay the cornerstone for Ebenezer Swedish Lutheran church in San Francisco. Rev A G Hall welcomed as new pastor at local Swedish Baptist church gathering featured remarks by Rev Cummins Rev Osterholm and others praising loyalty and cooperation and noting past service of Rev Hall. The event included a medal contest with Misses Rasmussen Koepf and others and a prize presented by local officials marking a community gathering.

Answered Deaths Summons in Litchfield Family Tragedy
Charles Johnson of the Capital Shoe Co received a telephoned notice of his mother's severe illness in Danielson and rushed home. She died Thursday at nearly 71 from pneumonia. Survived by husband and six children, she was an Meeker County settler long known in Litchie Waa Daa son. Funeral Sunday at Swedish M E Church, interment in Litchfield Cemetery. Mr Johnson returned Sunday night.

Death of Fireman Charles Patton on the Flyer near Waverly
Fireman Charles Patton of Willmar, aged nearly 27, died after being crushed between engine and tender when the tank pin failed near Waverly while No. 4 coal coast train was in charge. Patton, long employed by Great Northern, had two brothers and grieving parents. Funeral held at Willmar Presbyterian Church with local and railway lodge members in attendance.

Farmers Elevator to be built at Kandiyohi ahead of next season
