Scandinavian Bible Lecture Ends Series at Bond Hall

Mr H Finford of the International Bible Students Association conducts the final talk in a three part series in the Scandinavian field. The subject is The Three Harvests and the Result. The free lecture is at Bond Hall next Sunday February 15 at 3:00 pm. Everyone is invited.

Temperance Forces to Gather for Minnesota Council

A temperance gathering call was issued for Minneapolis February 25 and 26. Signed by statewide groups including Minnesota Anti-Saloon League Prohibition State Committee Minnesota W C T U and others, the plan aims to unite churches lodges and clubs for a council of war to overthrow liquor traffic with delegates, conference, and nonbinding resolutions.

Willmar Cooperative Mercantile elects directors at annual meeting

The Willmar Cooperative Mercantile Company held its annual meeting at the courthouse with about ninety stockholders present. Directors elected were A. J. Abbott, Chas. Tenaeson, John Sundin, Tobias Rasmusson and P. H. Frye. Management reports were read, a 6 percent dividend paid on stock and a 12 percent refund on purchases by stockholders, plus 6 percent on nonmember purchases. The board was instructed to seek a state cooperative conference in St Paul. Speeches were given by P. H. Frye, O. Nelson, Victor Holmquist, Hallock, and J. G. Monson.

Osseo Society to Present University Play Feb 26

The Seminary Osseo Society will stage its annual university play titled Scarlet Arrow at the University of Minnesota on Thursday evening February 26. The production, written by members of the Class of 1910, is reported to be staged by U Minnesota students. More details to follow next week.

Grand Concert at Synod Church Prompted by Local Choir

A Monday evening concert at the Synod church features Bethany and soloists led by Misa Evelyn with Alma, Sofia, and Grindeland among the soloists. The 45 member church choir has practiced over three months under strong direction. Receptions follow as the pastor and daughter Helen hosted a pleasant event.

Annex Third Straight Win Over Grove City Saturday

The Seminary basketball team defeated the Grove City town team by 442 to 21 I at Grove City last Saturday evening. The Willmar crowd watched a dominant first ten minutes as the lead grew, and the home side eased in the second period. Coach Lindholm of Litchfield briefly halted play, a ref switch occurred, and Litchfield still lost 16 to 23. The Seminary core, led by Goldhamer and Christian, and center Harstad, looks to further solidify this season with upcoming games against St. Joe. Fracas on Great Northern Train Ends With Arrests

A night fracas aboard a Great Northern snow plow crew train between Benco and Willmar left three victims badly injured, two stabbed and one stabbed multiple times. Four assailants, all crew members, were jailed in Willmar as others faced charges including second degree assault and grand larceny. The injured were hospitalized in serious condition as investigations continued.

City Fathers Approve Upgrade For Electric Plant

City Council Moodsyeight backs Wailer & Light Commission plan to replace equipment with the latest machinery to meet rising demand. Project cost about 14 000 dollars though plant reports near that surplus, and all motors will be swapped to fit new current.
