Farmers organize Minnesota Farmers Exchange at St Paul meeting
A statewide meeting of soil tillers in St Paul last week formed the Minnesota Farmers Exchange, a branch of the National Farmers Exchange. It aims to advance farmers interests, operate elevators, handle live stock and dairy goods, and act as a commission house and clearance facility. Freight collision near Herman leaves man injured
F A Brunkow, driving home with a wood load southwest of Herman, narrowly escaped death after his wagon struck a westbound freight train. He suffered head injuries from an iron rod, one knee hurt, and two horses died. He was treated at a drugstore and later at the Merchant hotel. Great Northern and railroad officials settled for 630 in damages and expenses.

Intoxicated Farmer Found Frozen Near Olivia
A young farmer about 23 was found early on a bitter morning near Olivia after drinking heavily the night before. He lost both legs and a hand, died from exposure, and the village marshal located his team on a trestle. The residence is northeast of Olivia, and the incident ends a sad record attributed to drink.
