Personal Notices Sweep Through Minnesota Visits

W D Wiggins did not travel to Atwater yesterday. Esther Swenson returned from Kandiyohi. Mrs F F Paulson visited Minneapolis briefly. Kandiyohi residents called on Willmar friends. Cora Omundson traveled to Atwater for a short visit. G A Johnson returned to Murdock to meet Mrs John Brandt and friends. Numerous other Minnesotans departed for visits in Minneapolis New London Payneville Lake Elizabeth and Cedar Rapids with relatives and guests noted throughout the region. Rev Olof Lindgren of Canada preached at Bethel. Miss Clara MacComber returned to Minneapolis after two weeks with the Palm home.

Willmar to host farmers institute in March dates set

Gov. A E Rice announces the Willmar farmers institute will be held March 14 and 15 with Forest Henry and assistants directing. A Willmar rally on March 16 will feature State Highway Engineer Cooley. A concert by Elenora Olson Company is planned for February 16.

Song of the Axe Heard in Gilger Woods

The Willmar Park Assembly clears trees in Gilger grove to make way for a new auditorium and grand oak gateway. Dates for the first assembly are July 20 to 29, with Scandinavian days and farmers and health conservation events planned. Rev. Olof Lindgren arrives from Camrose to visit Svea before attending the Minnesota conference on February 14.

Johnson Memorial Fund Reports Large Public Support

C W Ames secretary of the fund releases detailed cash receipts totaling 24260 with estimates of 75000 to 100000 individual and spontaneous contributions from towns and counties. Kandiyohi county raised 317.61 Willmar Gazette 22.75 Tribune 89.15 and county schools 86.12. The commission discusses selecting a top rank sculptor for a bronze heroic statue to be placed on Capitol grounds in St Paul. The Andrew Peterson furniture store remodel is described with expanded offices and shop areas. Bethel YP Association meets Feb 9 with refreshments and a program including music and readings. Austin Adamson returns from six weeks in Mo tine Minnesota.

Home Talent Triumphs With Unequal Match In Local Play

Home talent scored another success Monday presenting An Unequal Match to a crowded house. The cast, led by Forsberg as Joseph Garland, delivered a strong performance with Mrs Geo W Johnson and others shining. Receipts reached 230, about 130 going to St Luke's Men's Club. Frances Willard Memorial event to follow with a 10 cent collection.

Impressed Visitors Tour Copper Creek Arizona Mines

Lewis Johnson and Lars Molire toured the Copper Creek and Minnesota Arizona mining claims for four days. Johnson praised the properties equipment and management stating several promising ore bodies and a planned concentrate mill to produce 250 tons daily soon. The six carloads already shipped yielded 3644 dollars with rail access expected within six miles. Sibleys leading the project were praised as capable and industrious.

Swedish Luth Bethel Church Services and Events

The Swedish Luth Bethel church plans Sunday evening services next week and midweek services led by deacons due to the pastor's absence at Rush City for a dedication. Upcoming events include Y P S meeting this evening, ladies society gathering Feb 17 with refreshments by Mesdames Carlson and England, Salvation meetings Thursday and Saturday evenings, Sunday school at 2:00 pm, Salvation Rally at 7:30 pm, and a Feb 17 13 and 19 bazaar sale run by the sewing society with nightly openings at 7:20 pm and refreshments available.

Obituary for Martha Quam of Willmar

Martha Otos Quam wife of A P Quam died last Sunday evening at her home after a paralysis stroke from a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services were conducted by Rev Michaelson at the house and Lutheran Free church with interment at Fairview. Born May 22 1850 in Yttre Rendalen Norway she was 59 years 8 months 17 days old. She came to the United States in 1874 and married in 1875, living in Donnelly Willmar and Benson before returning to Willmar. Eight children were born five living Olga Jennie Renhart Adolph at home H L Nelson of Sioux City and a sister Oline and brothers K T B I J T Otos of this city survive along with other relatives.

Zenith Fuel Saver and Smoke Abater plans big plant

The Zenith Fuel Saver and Smoke Abater board approved a $150,000 stock issue, to fund a new factory starting April 1 with 160 employees and a $9000 monthly payroll. Edmonrd Poliquin will manage the sale with offices in Montreal and St. Paul, and a prospectus detailing stock and the company patent will be distributed to prospective investors.
