Personal and Local Travel Notes From Area Residents

County Auditor John Feig visited cities last Saturday while Rustel Johnson planned a short stay in Minneapolis. Arthur Halvorson attended the auto show in Minneapolis on Friday. Rev Ostling departed for the cities last Monday and plans to return tomorrow. Louis Nordgren tuning pianos in Raymond on Wednesday. Mrs John A Johnson visiting daughter in Minneapolis this week. Evelyn Grindeland traveled to Benson yesterday to give piano lessons. Mrs T O Gilbert returned home from Minneapolis and St Paul after a several day stay. Mrs Jerry English and Mrs J A McKinnon hosted bridge at the English home this afternoon. New light fixtures are being installed in the courthouse on an indirect order. Russell Spicer left Friday for a business trip to Colorado, away about eight days. Mr and Mrs Max Lewis home from McGregor Iowa after two weeks visiting relatives. Mr and Mrs Peter Hoglund with son Hugo daughter Hulda and Abbie Edgren visited Frank Hawkinson at Fahlun Sunday. Mr and Mrs Strandberg left Wednesday for Canada after visiting relatives near Lake Lillian and Svea. Mr Victor Holmquist of Halleck visited A H Brown and his wife. Holmquist is Brown’s cousin and brother of Prof G Holmquist of Long Prairie. Esther Hegstrom spent weekend at New London after accepting organist post at Lebanon church for a year and will teach music there.

Wedding of Marie Glad and J C Larson in Minneapolis

Miss Marie Glad daughter of Mr and Mrs B P Glad formerly of this city wed J C Larson Minneapolis attorney in a quiet ceremony at Gethsemane Episcopal church. Relatives attended dinner then newlyweds depart for a honeymoon through New York Buffalo Washington DC and Virginia. They will reside in Minneapolis after March 15. Commercial Club banquet in Willmar on Feb 11 with 1.00 plates, plans include outside speaker and a display of improvements, hedge planting and pole replacement for flag, and fundraising reports show $405 pledged for Dairyman's Convention and $56 net from Back to the Farm play. Born to Ludvig Liemenger a boy. Mrs. E A Danielson returns home after hospital stay. Dr. B J Branton ill at home.

New London Farmers Institute and Fair Speakers

Friday features a farmers institute at New London with sessions at 10 30 a m and 1 30 p m. A schoolhouse fair ensues with ribbons for top entries including ears of corn breads and poultry. Also notes a Willmar Farmers Mutual Fire Lightning Insurance report heavy losses totaling 6325 33 with 1699 78 from lightning and 357 16 on hand, along with policy figures. New express rates cut small parcel costs but apply only to inter state business. Proposal to widen and deepen Crow River Ditch No 1 is discussed. Post Master General Burleson issues order charging parcel post rates for miscellaneous printed matter weighing more than four pounds within size and weight limits. The measure clarifies that parcels unmailable before parcel post are now mailable.

A large delegation from Willmar Church attends a four day session at Minneapolis for the Lutheran Free Church Young People's Societies. Rev E E Gynild opens, Rev Michielson preaches, about 300 delegates, including Willmar members, attend with strong choirs and a two hundred voice chorus.
