Creameries Prospering Across Kandiyohi and Georgeville Cremeries

The Kandiyohi Central Creamery Association held its annual meeting noting receipts of 45,388.14 and expenditures of the same, with a ten percent patron dividend of 361.60 and officers re-elected. Georgeville Creamery Association reports 1909 milk and cream totals, overrun, and butterfat figures with an eight percent stock dividend and plans for a Belgrade cream station.

Anti Tuberculosis Meeting At Old Capitol

The Minnesota Association for the Prevention and Relief of Tuberculosis held its annual meeting at the Old Capitol on January 26 with about thirty delegates from St. Paul Minneapolis Duluth Willmar Redwing Cloquet Austin and St. Peter. Papers by Dr E K Touhy Mrs C G Higbee Mrs Florence Lee Christopher Easton and A B Blakey were read on topics from the tuberculosis problem to standards and methods. Joliva Larson and Carl Agkergon visited Willmar last Thursday.

McHlevey Nelson Marriage Report in Willmar Area

MCHELVEY NELSON. Mr Waldo Nelson of Norway Jake and Miss Lorena McKelvey of Willmar united in marriage last Wednesday Jan 26. The ceremony was led by Rev Gates in the presence of a few relatives. The bride, Hedrick IA high school graduate, is a milliner. groom Cedar Rapids IA business college graduate, farmer and cattleman. They reside on the Jackson farm after Feb 10. The Willmar District of the Swedish Lutheran church held a meeting at Svea with old officers reelected to lead funds and pastorates. The Christine and Fridsberg congregations will form one pastorate. $300 from the mission fund requested to aid keeping a pastor. District to contribute to jubilee endowment for Rock Island theological seminary. pastorates asked to contribute their share before May.

Obituary: George Hanscom Dies After Illness

The city wakes to the death of George Hanscom who passed away after a prolonged illness following two hemorrhages. Born about 26 years ago in Belvidere, he studied pharmacy after school and university, worked in A. E. Mossberg’s drug store, and is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Hanscom, sister Bertha in Chicago, and brothers Charles in St. Paul and Louis in Seattle. Funeral arrangements were not yet set.

Christine Lundgren 94 Dies at Kandiyohi Home

Christine Lundgren died at her Kandiyohi home at age 94 after a long illness. The funeral was held Friday with interment at Fairview. The Willmar Commercial Club met with strong attendance electing F Handy and J H Martin as new members. A Zenith Fuel Saver factory site was assigned to a committee to select location requiring five acres. A farm near city limits for Agricultural College experimental use was referred to Public Affairs. Omlie of Langdon ND is visiting Willmar and area.

Samuel Ball of LaPorte reports a housekeeper at Gustavus Kirby’s Diamond Lake farm who may be Bella Gunness. Kirby’s farm sale and a chase to confirm the identity unfold with reporters arriving, but Mrs Casey denies links to the famed killer. The episode ends with Kirby and the press departing, leaving unresolved questions and a threatened court action from Casey.

Willmar Park Assembly wins contract for new auditorium

The Willmar Park Assembly board awarded John Skoolheim a 1800 dollar contract to move and rebuild the late Green Lake Chautauqua auditorium on the Gilger property. The plan includes raising the stage ceiling for scenery, removing center pillars, and elevating the rear to improve sightlines, creating a 150 by 80 foot hall seating 2500. The project includes eight acres of virgin woods, a proposed lake shore driveway, and a forthcoming incorporation to simplify title recording and secure public ownership.
