Willmar Improvements Highlight Growth and Candie Contest
The past year shows Willmar's progress with up to a million dollars in county improvements and new industries shaping long term growth. A December candle burning contest held by G. O. Sand Co. drew about 1400 guesses. H. B. Jacobson won a traveling bag for the closest time of 24 hours 30 minutes 20 seconds. The Board of Education heard a Public Health Association committee on school conditions. Rev. Carl E. Oberg resigned and Andrew Bjorsell was elected to fill the vacancy. Julius Anderson from Madeira visited for the holidays.

Ice Harvest Begins at Green Lake with Record Output
The Green Lake ice harvest began yesterday as Mr Phiper's crew arrived to produce the season's largest output. Last year about 1,800 cars were shipped to ice houses along the Great Northern system, and this year's demand is expected to rise by about one fourth to around 2,400 bars. The ice stands at 16 inches thick, an ideal shipping thickness.

Obituary of Ole Gilbertson Remembrance from Willmar
The funeral for Ole Gilbertson, born October 2, 1843 in Norway, was held at the Norwegian Free Church. Rev. M B Michaelson led services with a sextet and solo performances, followed by burial. Survived by wife, eight children, sixteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and siblings. The family, once city gardener, moved from Willmar to Roy, Washington, after a life in Ellsworth and nearby areas.

Wedding Bells At Kandiyohi For Ida Klint And John Bangtson
Miss Ida Klint and John Bangtson wed at the Klint home in Kandiyohi. Rev. B B Walters officiated at 2 30 PM with a parlor ceremony and fern and palm altar. About fifty guests attended a buffet lunch before the couple’s Illinois trip and March home at Gustaf Johnson place.
