Cleveland Roadster Burned On Wednesday
The car of E. N. Felton en route to Bethesda Homes Wednesday caught fire from an overheated motor and was destroyed though the motor and front wheels survived. Harry Smith, Felton’s partner in Willmar Construction Co., was also in the vehicle. Attempts to save the car failed and insurance partly covered the damage.

Boy Falls From Central School Building
Gosworth Loomer son of Mr and Mrs E J Boomer was rendered unconscious after climbing outside the Central School building and slipping to the ground. He was taken home for care. Civic Club meets library basement Tuesday January 2 at 3 PM. George Bryant hurt back in a 18 foot slip and fall and is resting at Willmar Hospital.

Christmas Shopping Surpassed 1921 in Willmar Merchants
Willmar merchants reported strong Christmas trade with most firms saying 1922 sales matched or exceeded 1921. Some stores saw up to 25 percent growth across jewelers clothiers hardware and drugstores while a Tri bune survey noted only a few firms behind last year. An accompanying collision at Fourth Street and Litchfield Avenue between a Kandiyohi area farmer’s Ford and A. F. Hanscom’s Buick caused minor Buick damage and a loosened Ford steering column.

About 60 youngsters attended a Christmas party at the Elks club rooms in Willmar. Severinson Cleared to Play for Minnesota Team
Harold Severinson returned to Minneapolis after Christmas with his parents. He played as a regular forward on the University of Minnesota basketball team last season and will again this year if he passes a condition by January. He passed quarterly exams and, if he fulfills the condition early in January, may compete. Severinson was among the Western Conference’s top scorers last year and the team began practice to prepare for January games.

The annual weed inspectors report 143 locals logged 189 522 acres cut by owners visited without notices. Twenty three thousand two hundred ninety six acres were cut after notices. Seventy nine inspectors cut seven thousand five hundred eighty nine acres due to refusals. Total 230 037 acres cut by local activity, plus 19 193 acres in growing crops.
