Mild weather boosts Christmas buying as crowds fill Willmar streets and stores. Local shops prepare to meet demand with days left before Christmas Eve. Shoppers urged to consult the Tribune ads to plan purchases and aid in holiday gift lists.
The stranger found dead west of town last week remains unnamed. No interment order has been issued for the deceased.
Dr. Oscar Hedin of Minneapolis, son of local residents, will open a dental office in the Carlson Block in January after shipping equipment and completing his State University 1916 graduate training. He returns to Willmar to practice and reside, with best wishes from friends.
Christmas and Sunday services listed across Presbyterian Vinje Lutheran Swedish and First M B churches. Programs include preludes hymns carols sermons and choir performances with Christmas Eve and Christmas Day events at Willmar Solomon Lake Kandiyohi and Oak Park locations.

Mrs Emily Smithson of Stillwater, 75, was severely burned when a match lit under a couch to retrieve a dropped pen ignited the furniture. Doctors fear for her recovery as she is reported in critical condition. Mrs Drusilla Baldwin of Willmar sent word of the accident and will travel to Stillwater.
The county advisory board, sworn in, states they cannot fully assist drafted men with questionnaires. They urge all attorneys and qualified laymen to aid, noting time limits and the need for broad community support, including those in New London Atwater Sunbury Pennock Raymond and Gast. The board emphasizes public service and asks every citizen to participate.
