New apparatus tested at a Willmar fire
A fire at the Wilmar Sash and Door Factory drew Willmar’s new fire truck into its first practical test. In under seven minutes the crew had a steady water stream on the blaze and quickly gained control, confining the damage to the exhaust drum. Chief Selvig was away, but reports say the engine worked like a charm. John Williams, a longtime honorary member, praised the apparatus as the crew drilled with it since arrival and will continue weekly indoor drills.
