Great Northern silk flier arrived in Willmar early Monday with Supt. J A McKinnon in charge. Starting in Yokohama on November 19, the time race against time culminated as the train reached St Paul Union Station at 8:30 Monday morning, beating the 1909 record by five hours. It was slated to reach New York City by midnight.
John Henry Parsons died suddenly after heart failure December 3 in Kandiyohi County. He was 51, oldest son of P H Parsons of Spicer, born in Irving, spent most of his life there except three years in Huron South Dakota. He married Margaret Tait and left a wife three daughters and his father. Survived by Mrs R M Whitmus Edith and Ruth Parsons, and many relatives. Funeral Tuesday at one o'clock at his home, Rev Akers of Crookston officiated, burial at Oakside Cemetery. Also classified rental ad for a duplex at Bank of Willmar by 0 7 Sandbo.
The Willmar Military Band brings a concert to the opera house next Tuesday to raise funds and boost local morale. Miss Ethel E Reed of St Paul will perform piano numbers, enhancing the program along with local talent. Tickets are 35 cents.
The sorosis and willing Workers societies of the Lebanon Church plan their fifth annual bazaar at the town hall on December 14 and 15. Booths offer fancy work, ice cream, candy, and a coffee stand with sandwiches and pies. Evening programs feature solos, duets, speeches, and recitations by local performers and pastors.

Swedish entertainment group De Fem och Vi touring the country performs solos trios recitations and violin numbers of old Swedish melodies at the operal house next Friday evening. The lineup includes Blanche Holmgren Elin Johanson Signe Sundberg Anna Greta Adamsen Per Shenell Tor Hardelin and Fanny Soderholm. Tickets available at Elfatrum's drug store.
Ole Blomquist of Rone land suffered a serious cut while sawing wood on his farm last Thursday. A slip tipped the carrier toward the saw and his right hand touched the blade, severing three fingers. He was treated at Willmar hospital, where amputation was avoided. He remains hospitalized a few days.

A tragic attack near Hutchinson in McLeod Co left an old couple murdered by a prowling assassin. sheriffs seek the killer. Mrs T T Nelson visited from Spicer.
