The Black Bay Mining Company held its third annual meeting at Bonde Hall on Monday evening December 5 with 40 to 50 stockholders present. Karwand opened the session, minutes and annual report were read, and auditor Otos said books were correct. Peter Freeberg described drilling work and geology showing amygdaloid rock and copper ore, with gaps to reach the mother lode. drilling costs ran about 82 per foot and funding limited progress. Directors were elected, and a share-raising plan proposed to fund further drilling, with subscriptions from five to twenty five dollars.
The monthly report cards were distributed and the school will close Fridays before Christmas for vacation. A senior meeting discussed class pina. A literary program by the first division of the literary society is planned for next Friday. The Friday debate was postponed but may occur Friday evening if not delayed again. The high school will have a male quartet led by Max Lewis, Fred Haines, Maurice Jeoness, and Eddie Rodlin, with Prof. J Harold Powers as instructor. An informal second year English discussion debated a longer single school session, surprising many with the sophomores’ debating abilities, observed by Miss Little.
On Tuesday forenoon December 6 Miss Hattle Hanson wed Rev Christopher Mobo of Lake Lillian in a quiet ceremony at eleven with only immediate relatives present. The couple received many gifts and planned a wedding tour visiting Lakeville and Elbow Lake before settling with relatives.
Genesee settler 71 dies Thursday evening from apoplexy while storm window work on a roof. He fell to a ladder causing fatal injury. Survived by wife and four sons William C A A D Carlatian, all in the county. Funeral held yesterday at 1 pm at Swedish Methodist church in Atwater with Rev Wagner officiating.
William Liggett of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents bought a steer for the Agricultural Experiment Station. The animal earned 8450 in last year’s prizes and 525 in Chicago last week, then sold for 673, totaling 1,648 more than its cost of 60. The Board of Control may now credit the Regents for their decision. Also, A O Kiland will spend Christmas in the old country, Grimatad, Norway, returning next summer.

Dismissals on motions include pleadings in several civil actions. several matters continued to a special term of court on December 20. A single criminal case State of Minnesota v Peter Freeberg proceeded with witness testimony and motions to dismiss.
