Rosa Loeb, a war bride and former maid for Major Stanley James, was acquitted in Tacoma Washington after a trial over theft charges involving a fur coat and cash. The case followed a tangled sequence of arrests, extradition attempts, and habeas corpus proceedings, ending with her release and plans to sail for Belgium from New York. She expressed relief at being free and headed home as local officials noted her return. Westgaard attended the Tacoma trial as a witness.

Nebraska pastor accepts Tripolis call from Holdrege minister
Rev. Carl G. Olson of Holdrege Nebraska has accepted the pastorate of the Tripolis and Ebenezer Lutheran churches to succeed Rev Tillman. Olson, a Sweden born ordained at Galesburg in 1888, has served several charges with noted pastoral success. The change may occur next spring. Tillman has calls from Appleboro Massachusetts and the Hettinger North Dakota pastorate but has not chosen.
