Memorial Gift: Luther Seminary Receives Estrem Painting
Joseph O Estrem donates a life sized oil of Martin Luther to Hamline Seminary in memory of his wife Thea Thorpe Estrem. Norwegian artist H Gausta of Minneapolis created the work which was accepted during Reform Day services by President Prof Hove. The piece is praised as Gausta's best and a fitting memorial for the seminary. Willmar Commercial Club December meeting featured B F Woodard outlining the West Central Minnesota Development Association. Committees were named for Willmar meeting logistics including reception publicity and finances. A social session at Carlson Hall followed the afternoon program with light refreshments for visitors to meet and discuss the initiative to develop neglected regional resources.
