Odd Fellows Conference Held At Local Hall
A district conference of the IOOF met at Odd Fellows Hall with about 75 delegates from Atwater Kerkhoven Benson and Pennock. Grand Master Barber Grand Secretary Balter and Grand Patriarch McCullan attended with District Deputy Covell. Rev Crawford Grays spoke on how to improve the order and five Past Noble Grands were installed. A supper was served by the Rebecca lodge and the gathering was hailed as very successful. Also reported is the quiet wedding of Myrtle L Zent to William Steltz at the Lutheran Synod parsonage and four-generation Thanksgiving dinner at the Somerville home with Mrs Somerville aged 84. Licenses to wed issued include John Griggs and Hattie Johnson on Nov 24 and Louis VanderEinde and Johanna Mulder on Nov 29.

Train brakeman Gallagher badly hurt in Russell accident
Ed Gallagher brakeman of Willmar city was badly injured when the train he was fixing a brake on moved and dragged him about three car lengths. He was taken to Willmar Hospital with severe bruises, a deep cut on the left foot, and a scalp wound. Doctor says no serious outcome unless complications arise. Church bazaar planned at New London hall December 9 and 10 by Sorosis and The Willing Workers of Lebanon church with booths, refreshments, and a program. Home Talent Play Nevada or the Lost Mine slated for Opera House December 18 with rehearsals under way. Miss Anna Nelson returned home from Pennock after visiting her grandmother.
