Death in Runaway Near Willmar Aged Swedish Widow Killed

Mrs Emma Swenson aged 54 died when a runaway buggy near S J Bergs place northwest of Willmar pitched her from the rig. The bolt failed and the team ran wild. She was buried beside her husband Swen Swenson who died in 1901. funeral attended by many. The widow was born in Kil parish Vormland Sweden and survived by a son Swen Swenson Jr. in sorrow.

Roosevelt at Willmar Promotes Visit and Rally

Col T Roosevelt will visit Willmar next Sunday between 12 and 12:30 PM aboard a special train from Sioux Falls. The 138 mile run to Willmar with engine baggage car and two Pullmans Forest and Republic is expected to take about four hours. Roosevelt will then go to Fargo Monday where he will speak. Also noted are three farm sales by A H Brown Agency with buyers G Pearson Red Wing $9700, Pred Hoppe Springfield $15660, and Hans Nelson Humble $8000.

Buick Runabout Prize At Willmar Street Fair

A 1911 Model Buick runabout will be the prize at the Willmar Street Fair. After agent interviews, a Buick was chosen. the car will be shown at the State fair and then moved to Samuel Osmundson's garage in Willmar. Voting counts grow with new contestants as Clara Allen and others advance. ballots are sold for carnival funds and voting closes Sept 15 at five o'clock.
