Barn Struck by Lightning and Burned in Fahlun
In Fahlun on Big Kandiyohi lake J Aug Lindblad’s barn was struck by lightning about 2 am Monday and burned completely. Nine horses and eleven head of cattle perished, two horses escaped, one severely burned and killed, another likely unsavable. Hay and farm outbuildings destroyed. insurance covering total loss of 3500 to 4000 dollars, with 4500 dollars on farm property. Barn 108 feet long built in 1901 housed 9 horses 11 calves and various stock.

Swedish Couple Weds at Bethel Parsonage
Lars Gustaf Lindgren and Hannah Maria Danielson united in marriage by Rev. Gustaf Peterson at the Swedish Lutheran Bethel parsonage last Saturday evening. Attended by A. E. Danielson and wife, they hosted a wedding dinner at 724 First Street. The couple, from Ljusne Halsingsand, Sweden, arrived about six weeks ago. Lindgren has work with Nelson Paving and Construction Co.. the bride is A. E. Danielson’s cousin.

Death of Nils Holmquist Led Community Life in Willmar
Nils Holmquist to end of life died at home 803 Fourth Street Tuesday morning August 27 at 3 o clock after years of frail health. Born February 28 1841 in Oppmann a Sweden he came to America in 1866 settling at Vasa Goodhue County then moved to Willmar in 1892. He married Bengta Andersdotter in 1869 and helped organize Svea Swedish Lutheran church and school district No. 55. Survived by two daughters Anna Holmberg Amanda Brown, six grandchildren, a brother Peter and a sister Sven Youngren, with funeral set for tomorrow from Svea cemetery with Rev Gustaf Peterson delivering the sermon.
