Bicycle Car Collision on First Street Injures Youth
Renard Poss aged 26 son of Ole Foss is hospitalized after a bicycle rider collided with a car on First Street last Sunday evening. Eyewitness O E Bengtson and spouse were driving north. Foss rode south without lights. The bicycle was badly smashed and Foss suffered serious injuries. he was rushed to Wilmar Hospital.

Rural routes expand from Willmar mail delivery
Willmar will establish five rural carrier routes effective September 1 with parcel delivery by a special carrier, serving over a hundred families previously lacking morning mail. Boxes will be placed on Trott and Becker avenues, with delivery to be completed by about eight o’clock. Organized labor in Willmar plans a monster Labor Day celebration inviting citizens and county farmers. Committees for parade, speakers, finances, refreshments, decorations, sports and fireworks meet to finalize arrangements. Events include a 1:30 p.m. start at Court House grounds, a parade to Homewood Park, a big picnic, a 3:30 p.m. Willmar versus Fort Snelling ball game, children’s sports, an 8 p.m. meeting and fireworks.
