The Nichols-Hicke-McNairy Company, capitalized at $50,000, conducted a $300,000 business last year and has built a large regional wholesale operation with a concrete and steel three floor building.

The Willmar Brick Company, 1.5 miles from town on the Great Northern, began in 1887, moved for clay supply, now run by L Fridlund and N N Flykt. It sells drain tile brick and hollow brick, uses down draft and Scove burning, plans oil burning, employs twenty five men, with demand exceeding supply. An elevator built in 1914 supports large yearly volume and expansion.
