Hoglund Cottage at Green Lake Burns Down
Fire at Hoglund cottage near Gratz summer home at Green Lake completely destroyed the $2,300 structure and contents within minutes. Mrs Hoglund and her daughters Laura Mildred and little Blaine Ostling escaped with only fumes and burns. Mrs Hoglund suffered facial and arm burns and was treated at nearby William Gratz cottage as neighbors aided others in escaping the blaze. The blaze heavily damaged the large wooden cottage and its belongings.

Cottage loss totals six thousand with no insurance
A fire or disaster destroyed the well built home valued at $2300 with wardrobes, jewels, two diamonds, watches, piano and costly furniture belonging to Dr. Ox Hledin and the Missen Moxglund. Numerous other articles bring estimated total losses to about $6000. No insurance covered the finding or contents. Hoglund plans to rebuild nearby.
J. E. Bergstrom Buys Interest in Motor Inn Business
J. E. Bergstrom has purchased A. C. Skoog's interest in the Skoog Lundquist Motor Company. Bergstrom, previously of Pennock, now owns part of The Motor Inn garage business. Change of firm name and other details with partner Mr. Lundquist are undecided. Bergstrom is an expert mechanic with Pennock garage experience.

Elderly Stranger Found Dead On Public Road Near Pennock
An unidentified man about 65, 200 pounds with grey hair, was found near Pennock with a pistol wound to the left temple. Coroner Branton and Undertaker Peterson, called by Victor Bergstrom and William Dickson, noted no identifying details. The man, who carried a small grip, rosary, 75 cents, and medicines, appeared unsettled and had traveled to Pennock that morning. Authorities imply death by own hand due to despondency and ill health.
